Description

the client is seeking a Director of Data Center Engineering to lead the design, innovation, and optimization of next-generation, large-scale data center infrastructure. This high-impact leadership role will shape future-ready, highly resilient, and energy-efficient environments supporting growth in cloud and AI-driven workloads. You will provide engineering strategy across a multi-site or global portfolio and influence executive-level decisions related to infrastructure investments and design standards.

You will own and evolve data center engineering strategy aligned with long-term capacity and growth objectives, including leading the design and standardization of electrical and mechanical systems across new builds and retrofits. Responsibilities include establishing and scaling global engineering standards, design frameworks, and best practices, as well as driving next-generation architectures such as high-density compute and GPU/AI-ready environments. You will also champion efficiency and sustainability initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies (including liquid cooling, modular builds, and advanced power systems), and support performance initiatives focused on reliability, scalability, and lifecycle optimization.

Working closely with construction, operations, and capacity planning teams, you will ensure delivery from design through operations, including support for site selection, feasibility studies, and due diligence efforts. You will serve as a senior technical advisor to internal leadership and external stakeholders and drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis and performance metrics, with designs expected to meet or exceed Tier III/IV uptime and redundancy standards. The role is expected to be led by an engineering degree in a relevant field and may involve professional certifications and experience in hyperscale cloud, AI infrastructure, or colocation environments, along with familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies; U.S. work authorization is required.
