The client seeks an experienced, relationship-driven Development Director to help advance its mission by growing philanthropic support from individuals, businesses, and community partners. This role manages an assigned portfolio of approximately 125–175 donors and qualified prospects and is expected to strengthen donor relationships while expanding mid-level giving, increasing recurring giving, and identifying new philanthropic opportunities. The client benefits from an established community of committed supporters and operates programs serving neighbors across four counties.
The Development Director will be empowered to deepen existing relationships, cultivate new donors, and expand philanthropic investment to meet growing community needs. Responsibilities include managing and growing a donor portfolio through individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies; building trust through personalized outreach, mission tours, volunteer experiences, donor events, and related stewardship; maintaining accurate donor records and timely documentation in the donor database; and ensuring consistent, thoughtful, timely donor stewardship that supports long-term relationships. The role emphasizes retaining and growing donors with a particular focus on expanding mid-level giving.
The position also supports strategic fundraising and donor lifecycle management by maintaining a pipeline that guides supporters from identification and qualification through cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and ongoing engagement. The Development Director will secure and develop major gifts and related partnership opportunities, including corporate sponsorships and other engagement initiatives, while also creating tailored gift requests, proposals, sponsorship packages, and donor impact reporting. In addition, the role leads planning and execution of assigned fundraising events and stewardship experiences in collaboration with internal leadership and volunteer teams, and supports ongoing fundraising strategies, analysis of giving and engagement trends, and alignment with organizational revenue and long-term campaign efforts.
