the client, an apparel company, is seeking a Design Director for Boys to join its team in NYC. This role will provide creative leadership and guide the seasonal design strategy for the Boys apparel division across multiple categories, ensuring designs align with brand identity and customer needs.
The Design Director will develop trend-right assortments, including color palettes, graphics, prints, and silhouettes, and will oversee category development from concept through production. The position also includes conducting competitive shopping, trend research, and market analysis to identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and category expansion.
Candidates should bring strong experience in boys apparel design, with leadership experience at the Senior Designer or Director level preferred. The ideal profile includes a solid understanding of boys market trends, fabrications, graphics, fit, and category development, along with proven leadership and team management experience in a fast-paced apparel environment. The role requires excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to partner effectively with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, and Sales teams.
