Description

the client seeks a Deputy Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) with a pathway to progress toward a COO role within approximately 12–18 months. The role is expected to lead critical corporate functions and influence the company’s operational trajectory by driving enterprise projects, process improvements, and functional innovation in alignment with the client’s strategic plan.

The Deputy Group COO will oversee and coordinate HR, Treasury, IT, Trade Operations, ESG, Corporate Communications, and Internal Audit/Risk to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations. Responsibilities include establishing standardized operating procedures, service levels, and accountability frameworks; translating strategic initiatives into actionable operational programs; leading cross-functional strategic projects with business units and support functions; and strengthening internal controls, compliance, and enterprise risk frameworks, including partnering with internal audit to close findings and support governance and regulatory expectations.

Progressively, the role is expected to take ownership of P&L oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow optimization, including liquidity and working capital management, banking relationships, FX exposure, cashflow forecasting, and support for securing banking trade lines. The position also includes ensuring accurate trade documentation, timely shipments, robust controls, KPI implementation to reduce document cycle times and accelerate collections, ESG strategy and reporting leadership, organizational design and succession planning, mentoring and developing leaders, supporting executive engagement with key stakeholders, and producing timely operational and financial reporting to support management, executive decision-making, and board-level review.
