The Deputy Director, People Programme, Planning and Performance role at our client is a senior leadership position within the People and Capability team, responsible for shaping and driving the people agenda within one of the highest profile operational government departments. This role involves leading the department's people plan, delivering people priorities, and translating strategic priorities into actionable plans. The Deputy Director will also play a key role in briefing senior leaders on planning and performance priorities, working closely with HR Business Partners and Business Leaders to ensure workforce planning and resourcing align with departmental needs.Reporting to the Director of People Strategy, Delivery and Assurance, the Deputy Director will lead a team of approximately 60-70 people, including four direct reports. This role is crucial in delivering the People Transformation Plan in support of the wider design and delivery programme for the DWP People Story 2030. Responsibilities include overseeing financial planning, governance, compliance, and assurance functions, as well as ensuring strategic leadership in these areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the department's people agenda and supporting the overall goals of the organization.
