The client is seeking a Deputy Director to support execution of organizational priorities related to affordable housing and voucher program initiatives. This role leads day-to-day planning, implementation, and ongoing refinement of housing programs, including pilot efforts and program enhancements, and provides operational insight to support long-term housing strategy. The Deputy Director will apply subject-matter expertise in housing stability and rental assistance to help ensure effective, compliant program delivery.
Key responsibilities include overseeing Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) initiatives, project-based vouchers, and related rental assistance programs; monitoring performance, compliance, and quality assurance; and recommending and implementing improvements. The Deputy Director will support strategies to improve voucher utilization, landlord participation, and participant experience, promote resident-centered program design aligned with community needs, and use data and reporting to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
The role will maintain working relationships across public and government entities, public housing authorities, nonprofit partners, developers, landlords, and community stakeholders, and represent the client in local and regional housing meetings and partner forums. The Deputy Director will supervise and support program staff, including onboarding, development, workload management, and cross-team coordination, and assist with budgeting, grant, contract, and resource tracking to ensure day-to-day operations align with mission, values, and strategic direction. A bachelor’s degree is required, with 3+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience and 3+ years of experience administering public or assisted housing programs, including working knowledge of HCV and HUD-regulated environments; familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) structures, experience supporting budget management and grant-funded or contracting efforts, strong communication and relationship-building skills, ability to obtain required certifications, and a commitment to equity and resident-centered practice are also expected.
