Description

The client invites applications for the Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) role. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer and acting as a second-in-command, the Deputy CIO will provide executive leadership and oversee enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and core administrative platforms. This position will also help advance AI innovation and adoption through partnerships across the university community, supporting strategic initiatives tied to student success, academic and research priorities, AI innovation, and institutional operations.

The Deputy CIO will establish and enforce the university-wide framework for IT policy, standards, and governance, while ensuring technology investments are strategically aligned, operationally compliant, and effective in supporting organizational missions and operations. The IT office delivers enterprise technology solutions across functions including teaching and learning technologies, enterprise application development and support, enterprise service desk services, core enterprise systems, infrastructure, information security, project management, and networking.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field from an accredited institution, along with at least 12 years of progressive information technology experience and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role (director equivalent). Candidates should demonstrate experience leading strategic projects involving enterprise systems, and possess strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. A graduate degree in a related field is highly desired, along with experience in higher education and/or public sector or hybrid cloud environments, extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure and applications, and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
