Description

The client is seeking an entrepreneurial Dean to lead its School of Business and Economics, established as part of an effort to modernize liberal arts education. The school brings together STEM-focused business and economics training with critical thinking and social impact, preparing students for a technology-driven, data-informed global economy. The Dean will shape the school’s strategy, advance innovative teaching and research, strengthen cross-industry and interdisciplinary partnerships, and support growth through flexible, tech-enabled program offerings.

As the School’s chief academic and administrative leader, the Dean will articulate and execute a forward-looking strategy, enhance research excellence by attracting and supporting faculty and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and drive continuous innovation and academic rigor across degree, executive, and lifelong learning programs. The role includes ensuring the organization has the talent, expertise, and infrastructure needed to execute priorities, expanding the scale and impact of faculty research, and strengthening the connection between scholarship and practice. The Dean is also expected to lead initiatives that grow research funding, enhance research centers, and promote collaboration across schools and disciplines, while promoting an entrepreneurial mindset throughout programs, research, and partnerships.

The Dean will serve as the school’s chief ambassador and spokesperson, sustaining high-impact relationships with alumni, corporate partners, board members, foundations, and other key stakeholders to elevate global reach and influence. Working closely with institutional advancement, the Dean will align fundraising efforts with strategic priorities and champion transformative fundraising to support faculty excellence, scholarship, research, facilities, and long-term institutional growth. Additional responsibilities include deepening corporate engagement and executive education partnerships, stewarding a resilient and diversified financial model, leading pursuit of innovative revenue opportunities, fostering a high-performing collaborative culture across faculty, staff, and students, and strengthening school and university partnerships to advance interdisciplinary and broader institutional priorities.
