The Dean of The Graduate & Professional School is responsible for overseeing graduate and professional studies at the university, including conducting academic program reviews, assisting with accreditation efforts, and providing administrative leadership for graduate programs. They serve as the senior academic and administrative officer for graduate programs at the university, overseeing the development of courses, programs, and degrees in alignment with the university's R2 status. The dean also maintains involvement in regional and national professional associations, supports faculty and academic deans in developing graduate programs, and exercises fiscal responsibility for The Graduate & Professional School, including managing scholarship programs and student funds.In addition to administrative duties, the dean plays a key role in academic policy development, working with faculty, department chairs, and deans to develop short and long-range plans for graduate education. They communicate activities with reporting agencies, provide strategic leadership, and collaborate with local and regional partners to advance the university's teaching and R2 mission. The dean also participates in the Council of Academic Deans, develops and implements campus-wide strategies, and performs other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of graduate education at the university.
