The client seeks a forward-thinking educator and administrator passionate about preparing the next generation of teachers, education leaders, and change agents across its education landscape. The Dean will build on the college’s positive momentum and provide visionary leadership to strengthen educator preparation in a rapidly evolving educational environment.

the client’s college of education is a nationally recognized educator-preparation college serving more than 800 undergraduate and graduate students pursuing teaching licensure and degree programs across education and leadership disciplines. Across two departments, the college offers comprehensive preparation in teaching and educational leadership pathways, with enrollment growth and established teacher apprenticeship programming that was formally recognized by a federal labor authority. The Dean serves as the chief executive officer for the college, reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and is responsible for strategic direction and operational oversight of academic initiatives, programs, and services while ensuring alignment with the university’s strategic plan and institutional priorities.

The Dean will develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy that strengthens the impact of educator and leadership preparation amid changing educational and technological needs. Key responsibilities include aligning financial priorities with college needs, fostering data-informed decision-making, cultivating operational resiliency, and enabling innovation. The Dean will provide strategic guidance to student recruitment and enrollment management focused on attracting, retaining, and graduating future educators and leaders, and will serve as a visible, engaged partner by building relationships with educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community and government agencies to expand resources, partnerships, and collaborations. The ideal candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree and earned rank as a tenured professor, along with a minimum of five years of academic administrative experience, and a distinguished academic record respected by the scholarly community in education and/or leadership pedagogies.
