The Dean of the College of Fine Arts will be responsible for developing a vision and long-term priorities aligned with the University's strategic direction and the mission of the arts. They will need to foster a collaborative and transparent culture that encourages collaboration among disciplines while championing excellence and innovation in teaching, research, scholarship, performance, and creative activity. Managing and advocating for the financial, human, physical, and technological resources needed to advance the College, including specialized facilities and space needs, will also be a key responsibility. Additionally, the Dean will recruit, develop, and retain outstanding faculty, staff, and academic leaders, promote student creativity and success, build interdisciplinary partnerships, and strengthen relationships with Utah's arts and cultural community and external partners.In addition to the above responsibilities, the Dean will lead fundraising and development efforts, cultivating relationships with donors, alumni, and supporters. They will also serve as a visible advocate for the College within the University and broader community, advancing its national and international reputation. Using data and appropriate measures to inform decision-making and assess programs and initiatives will be crucial in this role. Overall, the Dean of the College of Fine Arts will play a key role in advancing the College's mission and ensuring its success in teaching, research, and creative activities.
