The client invites nominations and applications for the role of Dean. Reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, the Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the client, leading a community of faculty, staff, and students focused on addressing pressing environmental challenges through professional education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and distinguished research.
The client is a public research university and the dean will lead a mission-driven, interdisciplinary school founded in 1994 that integrates science, policy, economics, and management to develop actionable solutions and train future environmental innovators. The Dean is expected to guide professional master’s programs and a research-based Ph.D. program, support cutting-edge research across areas such as climate change, biodiversity, energy and water resources, environmental data science, law, and economics, and help prepare graduates to lead across government, industry, and nonprofit sectors.
The Dean will be expected to bring strategic vision, entrepreneurial energy, and a deep commitment to the school’s mission while helping it thrive as a global leader in interdisciplinary environmental education and research. Key priorities include defining and executing the school’s vision; elevating and advocating for the school within and beyond the university; shaping academic offerings to drive student engagement and enrollment; catalyzing interdisciplinary research, collaborations, and partnerships on and off campus; fostering a collegial, collaborative culture; and ensuring the school has the resources to achieve its aspirations.
