The client invites applications for the position of Dean of Faculty of Medicine. The Faculty of Medicine is planned to be established through the integration and expansion of the existing health sciences units, with the aim of developing into a world-class medical school that integrates top-tier talent cultivation, advanced medical services, and innovative medical research. The faculty is expected to enroll approximately 4,000 students and will comprise multiple academic departments, including biomedical sciences, pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, public health and medicinal administration, and new departments for clinical medicine, medicinal food and nutrition sciences, and dentistry.
The Dean will be responsible for faculty management, academic strategic planning, curriculum design, laboratory setup, and research development. The role is expected to support strong teaching, research, and service activities while advancing interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships with diverse stakeholders. English is expected to be the working language and primary medium of instruction.
The successful candidate is expected to have considerable experience in academic leadership and higher-education settings, with an earned doctoral degree in medicine or related disciplines. Qualifications include a strong background in medical education and a commitment to high-quality clinical research and practice, a distinguished record of internationally recognized research and scholarship, evidence of outstanding academic leadership with effective teaching experience, and the ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and drive technological innovation. Excellent management and communication skills are required, with knowledge of Chinese and/or Portuguese considered an advantage.
