Description

The client seeks a visionary, collaborative academic leader to serve as Dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and Director of the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station. The role advances an innovative strategy for two units that fulfill the land-grant mission, with a focus on excellence in science, research, learning, and outreach. The Dean will support agricultural production, environmental science, natural resource management, and planning and policy, and will help unify stakeholders and rightsholders to enhance the lives of people in the region and beyond.

The Dean will lead a highly visible, wide-ranging enterprise with significant engagement across faculty, students, and external partners. Responsibilities include providing leadership to more than 190 faculty members and overseeing academic, research, and outreach activities involving undergraduate and graduate communities. The role involves collaborating with producers and scientists across the state, agriculture and food industry partners, research cooperatives, commodity groups and associations, sovereign Tribal Nations, and local and state government. The Dean will also oversee research and outreach centers and additional outreach and educational programs connected to the units, ensuring research benefits are disseminated to the public.

Reporting to the executive vice president and provost, the Dean will champion excellence and serve as an energetic ambassador for public higher education and the land-grant mission and values. The client is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal access in its programs, facilities, and employment, and will attract and retain employees with varying identities and backgrounds.
