Description

the client seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative, and innovative leader to serve as the next Dean of the College of Education and Human Development. The role focuses on advancing the college’s mission of enhancing educational achievement and health outcomes, fostering innovation and development, and influencing policy and practice across education and related fields such as educational administration, educational psychology, health, sport, and the intersection of business and government. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will set and implement a strategic vision to grow interdisciplinary collaborations, external partnerships, and the college’s reputation for excellence.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective academic and administrative leadership, with a strong record that may include leadership, teaching, research, and service. Candidates must be eligible for appointment at the rank of tenured full professor at the client in one or more academic units within the college, and they will be expected to bring a commitment to shared governance. The Dean will be a consistent advocate for faculty, staff, and students, supporting teaching, creative works and scholarship, mentoring, and service, while promoting a culture of transparency and collaboration through consensus-building in policy and process decisions.

The Dean will oversee four academic departments: educational administration and human resource development, educational psychology, kinesiology and sport management, and teaching, learning and culture. The role includes serving on the University’s Council of Deans and engaging with regional school districts, non-profit organizations, institutes and centers, and other external stakeholders, including potential donors, to advance the college’s mission and impact.
