the dean will lead efforts to elevate the college’s impact during a time of transition. responsibilities include guiding a collaborative strategic planning process; strengthening communication and community across faculty, staff, and students; supporting excellence in teaching and research; stewarding and diversifying financial resources; and championing the value of the liberal arts to internal and external audiences. the role also involves clarifying the college’s unique positioning within the broader institution and the higher education landscape while sustaining an institutional commitment to inquiry, interdisciplinarity, and the public good.
