The Dean of the School of Technical and Professional Specialties is responsible for leading and managing the school by planning, coordinating, evaluating, and developing new and existing programs to achieve the college's mission. This position involves overseeing faculty and staff to ensure rigorous program assessment of student learning for continuous improvement of student outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President, the Dean provides leadership and supervision for the school, develops programs, monitors operations, and implements changes to meet student and community needs.Key responsibilities include leading the creation, innovation, and implementation of a dynamic program portfolio focused on helping students enroll, complete programs, gain high-wage jobs, and successfully complete bachelor's degrees. The Dean guides excellence in analysis of student learning outcome assessment, program review data, and labor market information to improve the student learning experience and achieve strategic goals. Additionally, the Dean coordinates and evaluates the work of administrative personnel, supports faculty in innovative teaching and curriculum design, and directs plans for the growth of new programs to serve emerging community and workforce needs. Other duties include fundraising and development activities, budget management, attending college meetings, and meeting with faculty and staff to ensure goal development and achievement.
