Reporting to the executive vice president and provost, the dean will provide leadership for and advocate for the college’s academic programs, centers, and research. The role emphasizes advancing the future of science, technology, and mathematics research and education while supporting an interdisciplinary learning and scholarship environment.
The dean will partner with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to enhance the college’s visibility, reputation, and standing; grow the research portfolio and extramural funding, including grants; and strengthen collaborative efforts with relevant campus and engineering partners. The dean is expected to ensure students have strong educational and research opportunities, along with career and professional advising and support, while contributing as an integral member of the provost’s leadership team and collaborating with other deans to foster academic excellence.
