Description

the client seeks an innovative and compassionate Dean to lead the client’s School of Nursing. The role provides chief academic and administrative leadership, advancing the school’s mission to prepare nurses for professional practice, healthcare leadership, and global service within a supportive Christian community. The School of Nursing offers in-person undergraduate education and also supports graduate-level education through multiple Dallas-based online programs, including an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with multiple tracks.

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean is accountable for the quality of the school’s academic programs and for aligning the school’s strategic priorities with those of the client. Key responsibilities include developing an overarching vision; recruiting, developing, and retaining strong research and clinical faculty and excellent staff committed to the client’s Christian mission and teaching excellence; enhancing undergraduate educational experiences; expanding graduate programs; elevating the caliber and impact of research activity; creating clinical opportunities for students; fostering collaboration within the school; defining strategic priorities; and leading substantial fundraising efforts to support those priorities.

the client seeks a seasoned leader with strategic leadership, long-term vision, and the ability to form collaborative partnerships within and beyond the client. The Dean should have demonstrated Christian faith and the ability to integrate faith, learning, and scholarship authentically in leadership. The role is expected to be carried out with impeccable personal and professional integrity and strong ethical character. Required qualifications include a distinguished record of leadership in higher education at the dean, associate dean, chair, director, or equivalent level, as well as an earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree with academic qualifications suitable for appointment as a tenured full professor.
