The Dean is a key member of our client's senior academic team, serving as the chief administrator of the college. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean oversees departments and programs within the college, with primary responsibilities including administering instructional programs, fostering academic excellence in teaching and research, setting long-term goals, managing the annual budget, and making recommendations on personnel matters. Additionally, the Dean plays a crucial role in developing external relationships with various stakeholders, seeking external support for the college, and providing leadership to support diversity and the international character of the college. Representing the college in the university and community, the Dean also carries out other duties as assigned by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.In addition to administrative duties, the Dean is responsible for supporting interdisciplinary activities within the college, managing and evaluating college managers and staff, recommending appointments of chairs, and overseeing their administrative functions. The Dean must also implement and interpret university and state policies, ensuring compliance within the college. With a focus on fostering a supportive academic environment and promoting academic excellence, the Dean plays a critical role in shaping the future direction of the college. By effectively managing resources, building relationships with external partners, and providing leadership in diversity and international initiatives, the Dean contributes to the overall success and reputation of the college within the university and broader community.
