Description

The client is seeking a Credit Officer for a community bank role in the Memphis, TN area. In this position, you will manage the credit analysis and administration teams, including recruitment, development, compensation, and performance management, while helping drive credit quality, growth, and risk oversight.

Key responsibilities include developing departmental financial goals related to credit quality, volume, and risk distribution; recommending loan structure, terms, risk ratings, and pricing; and presenting loans for approval to the bank’s management and directors loan committees. You will coordinate with credit analysts and commercial lenders to ensure consistent, accurate loan presentation content; implement and monitor credit policies and procedures with appropriate controls; ensure portfolio adherence to credit criteria, underwriting requirements, and performance expectations; and prepare reports on loan quality, growth trends, and product concentrations. You will also review real estate data and assess potential impacts on the loan portfolio, delegate assignments to balance workloads, and represent the bank in communications with regulators, external loan review, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and ten or more years of commercial banking, along with ten or more years of progressive leadership experience. The role also expects experience in credit administration, analysis, and risk mitigation with direct credit approval, as well as supervisory experience in commercial real estate, construction, and commercial and industrial lending.
