Description

The client is seeking an experienced Corporate Safety Director to lead company-wide construction safety strategy during a period of operational growth. This role will closely partner with executive leadership, project teams, and field personnel to strengthen and evolve an already successful safety program while supporting expansion across multiple states. The position emphasizes proactive, field-driven leadership and will help build a growing corporate safety function aligned with ongoing project execution.

Key responsibilities include leading overall construction safety strategy across multiple active projects; coaching, mentoring, and modeling visible safety leadership in the field; conducting safety audits, inspections, and site engagement; and partnering with project managers and superintendents to identify risks before work begins. The director will develop and improve corporate safety programs, policies, and standard operating procedures; ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable client safety standards; lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions; and coordinate safety training while monitoring employee certification compliance. The role also includes overseeing safety metrics and workers’ compensation trends, presenting safety updates to leadership, and supporting preconstruction risk identification and mitigation planning.

Candidates should bring construction safety leadership experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or self-performing construction environments, along with strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices. The ideal profile includes demonstrated ability to influence and build trust with field operations through coaching, experience developing safety programs and audit/compliance initiatives, and the ability to analyze safety data for continuous improvement. Regular travel to project sites is expected at approximately 25 percent, and strong communication skills are required to work effectively with executives and field leadership. Experience with workers’ compensation management and incident response is preferred, and relevant safety credentials and training are valued but not required.
