the client provides 360° search solutions for a global client base and is supporting a global bank in onboarding director-level sales professionals with a background in energy or metals. The role is based in Amsterdam and focuses on commodity markets, including energy (crude oil, distillates, and natural gas), metals, and carbon.
Key responsibilities include managing corporate client relationships and carrying out daily commodity transactions across energy, metals, and carbon markets while expanding the client portfolio across sectors and locations. The role will also organize client pitches and presentations to sector stakeholders and senior management, demonstrating a strategic plan with clearly highlighted priorities. The director will lead, support, and motivate more junior members of staff to build deep expertise, and will work within internal pricing and capital pricing models, collaborating with the trading team to ensure alignment.
Candidates are expected to have 10+ years of commodity derivative sales experience with corporate clients, including proven ability to manage key accounts and relationships with decision makers. A strong educational background is required, such as a master’s degree in economics, econometrics, financial engineering, and/or CFA or an equivalent qualification. Experience is expected to include an understanding of energy and/or metal derivative markets, and familiarity with carbon or power is considered a bonus.
