Description

The client is searching for qualified individuals to join their expanding Equity Derivatives team based in Hong Kong. Positions available include Vice President (VP), Assistant Vice President (AVP), and Analyst roles. Core responsibilities of these positions involve the development and implementation of high-quality software solutions, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability, while adhering to best security practices. The successful candidate will also provide second-level support for applications and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, such as trading, sales, quantitative analysis, compliance, risk management, and operations, to ensure seamless operations.

Applicants must possess expertise in Core Java, familiarity with Linux, and a solid understanding of equity derivatives, particularly in pricing. Pre-trade knowledge is vital as it constitutes 80% of the role, along with skills in low latency messaging. The client values strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a genuine passion for the field. The ability to solve problems, especially when faced with unknown challenges, is crucial. Preference will be given to those with business-side experience over generalist technical skills, and candidates are encouraged to respond honestly to theoretical and practical problems during interviews.

The technical platform involved supports both pre-execution and post-execution pricing mechanisms, analytical tools, and volatility metric visualization. It includes applications aimed at facilitating automatic delta hedging, vega rolling strategies, delta crossing, real-time transaction capture, and position oversight. This system relies on a high-speed, distributed messaging framework to deliver real-time market data to users' desktops, comprehensive analytics, and fulfills the requirements for financial and regulatory reporting. Collaboration with global colleagues is emphasized to promote a culture of code excellence and shared knowledge.
