Description

The client is seeking a Controller to manage and oversee core accounting operations for consolidated financial reporting. This role will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, statements, records, and reports, while ensuring the accuracy of the company’s ledgers and the consolidation of subsidiary financial statements. The Controller will also support internal reporting by coordinating financial data accumulation and consolidation to reflect consolidated business results accurately.

Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating accounting operational functions; managing financial data accumulation and consolidation; preparing internal and external financial statements; and coordinating activities related to external auditors. The Controller will oversee the budget process, manage a 13-week cash flow, develop and monitor business performance metrics, and lead monthly reconciliation and consolidation efforts to produce accurate and timely reporting. The role includes completing required monthly journal entries, preparing variance reports with adjustments, reconciling inter-company accounts, resolving variances, and actively supporting the full month-end close process across areas such as AP, AR, and cash, along with ad hoc reporting as needed.

The Controller will collaborate with business units to gather financial information for monthly close, partner with executives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial close and consolidation process, and interface with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audit documentation. The role will respond to ad hoc inquiries, recommend process and control enhancements to improve efficiencies and reduce close timelines, and support general accounting functions. Requirements include a BA or BS in Accounting and strong preference for a CPA; typically 4–5 years of Controller experience in a similar industry; strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus); demonstrated competency with US GAAP; and strong organization, time management, communication, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving skills.
