Experienced Construction Litigation Attorney position with a collaborative, team-oriented defense-side practice that provides sophisticated litigation work and direct client interaction. The client’s construction litigation team is seeking an attorney who can contribute immediately to managing complex matters, with opportunities for long-term career growth and professional development.
Requirements include an active Florida Bar license in good standing and at least seven years of litigation experience, with substantive experience in construction litigation and other complex litigation matters. The role is expected to involve independent management of litigation matters from inception through resolution with minimal supervision, including experience handling hearings, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances, along with strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills. Strong communication and client relationship management abilities, interpersonal skills, and courtroom presence are required, and strong academic credentials are preferred.
Responsibilities include managing complex construction litigation from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, briefs, and legal memoranda, and conducting legal research to develop litigation strategy. The attorney will take and defend depositions; prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other court proceedings; communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses; analyze construction contracts and project documentation; and work closely with construction experts and technical consultants to support litigation strategy. The role will also include providing practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to construction industry clients and participating in client development and business generation efforts.
