Construction Associate Attorney position with a collaborative, team-oriented defense-side practice focused on construction litigation. The role will support a busy construction litigation team and provides opportunities for sophisticated litigation work, meaningful client interaction, and long-term career growth. The position is based in Tampa, supporting matters handled by the firm’s construction practice.
Required qualifications include an active Florida Bar license in good standing and 4+ years of substantive construction litigation experience. Defense-side construction litigation experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution and handle all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and hearings. Strong legal writing, research, oral advocacy, and communication skills are essential, along with excellent client relationship management and exceptional organizational skills for managing competing priorities.
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda; conducting legal research and developing litigation strategies; taking and defending depositions; and preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings. The attorney will communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses, collaborate with partners and attorneys across the construction practice, and analyze construction contracts, project documentation, and technical records to provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to construction industry clients.
