The client is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney to join a collaborative, defense-side construction litigation team and contribute to a busy docket. The role offers sophisticated litigation work, direct client interaction, and opportunities for long-term career growth within a team-oriented practice.
Applicants must have an active Florida Bar license in good standing and at least 4+ years of substantive construction litigation experience. Defense-side construction litigation experience is strongly preferred. The position requires the ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, handling all phases of litigation including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and hearings, with strong legal writing, research, oral advocacy, and communication skills.
Responsibilities include managing construction litigation matters end to end, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda, conducting legal research and developing litigation strategies, taking and defending depositions, and preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings. The attorney will communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses; analyze construction contracts and project documentation; and provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel, with experience representing construction stakeholders and handling issues such as construction defect claims, contract disputes, delay claims, and payment disputes being preferred.
