Experienced construction litigation attorney to join the client’s collaborative, team-oriented legal practice in the Tampa area, supporting a busy construction litigation team with sophisticated defense-side matters. The role emphasizes direct client interaction, long-term career growth, and independent management of complex litigation work from inception through resolution. The position will involve both courtroom presence and strong coordination with litigation team members and firm attorneys.
Requirements include an active Florida Bar license in good standing and substantial litigation experience, with a focus on construction litigation. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience handling complex construction disputes and related proceedings, including hearings, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances. Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills are required, along with excellent communication, client relationship management, interpersonal skills, and courtroom presence; strong academic credentials are preferred.
Key responsibilities include managing complex construction litigation matters, drafting pleadings and motions, preparing discovery requests, briefs, and legal memoranda, conducting legal research, and developing litigation strategy. The role also includes taking and defending depositions, preparing for and attending hearings and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses. The attorney will analyze construction contracts and technical project records, work closely with construction experts and technical consultants, provide strategic legal guidance to construction industry clients, and support client development and business generation efforts.
