Seeking an experienced construction litigation attorney to join the client’s busy construction litigation team, with a strong defense-side focus and a collaborative, team-oriented culture. The role emphasizes sophisticated litigation work, direct client interaction, and long-term career growth, including immediate contributions to complex construction matters out of the Tampa office.
Requirements include an active Florida Bar license in good standing and 7+ years of litigation experience, with substantive experience in construction litigation and complex matters. The position is expected to support independent management of litigation matters from inception through resolution with minimal supervision, including handling hearings, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances. Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills are required, along with excellent communication, client relationship management, interpersonal skills, and courtroom presence; strong academic credentials are preferred.
Responsibilities include managing complex construction litigation matters end to end, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, briefs, and legal memoranda, and conducting legal research to develop litigation strategies. The attorney will take and defend depositions, prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other court proceedings, and communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses. Work also involves analyzing construction contracts, project documentation, and technical records, collaborating with construction experts and technical consultants, providing strategic guidance to construction industry clients, and participating in client development and business generation efforts.
