The client is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney to join a collaborative, team-oriented defense-side construction litigation practice. This role involves sophisticated litigation work and direct client interaction, with opportunities for long-term career growth. The position is based in the Tampa office and will support a busy construction litigation team.
Requirements include an active Florida Bar license in good standing and at least four years of substantive construction litigation experience. Defense-side construction litigation experience is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate can independently manage matters from inception through resolution and has experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and hearings, along with strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and effective communication and client relationship management.
Responsibilities include managing construction litigation matters from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda, conducting legal research, and developing litigation strategies. The role also includes taking and defending depositions, preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses. The attorney will analyze construction contracts, project documentation, and technical records and provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to construction industry clients.
