The client is seeking a Compliance Director to manage compliance functions for multiple affiliated entities, supporting a growing organization that may launch or acquire new brands. This role will oversee regulatory filing and submission activities, help ensure audit preparedness, and maintain accurate compliance records across relevant regulatory areas.
Key responsibilities include overseeing filings and submissions to the TTB; preparing and submitting excise taxes for multiple states on a recurring basis; staying current with FDA compliance updates and supporting audit preparedness; maintaining and updating ABC locations and ownership information as needed; coordinating label review and ensuring appropriate COLA submissions for new or redesigned products; and supporting trademark/IP maintenance.
The Compliance Director will also coordinate with external vendors on items such as maintenance of bond coverage, TTB trade name additions, and filings related to fictitious business names, as well as manage permit renewals across multiple channels. Additional responsibilities may include out-of-state product registrations, label revisions and renewals for wholesale and direct-to-consumer offerings across brands, while protecting company assets through compliance standards, internal control improvements, and proactive monitoring of emerging compliance trends. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels, excellent command of English, and typically a bachelor’s degree (preferred) and extensive compliance experience in the wine industry with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility and streamlining compliance operations; participation in ongoing education and professional engagement is also expected.
