The client is seeking a Director of Development to lead and expand their fundraising program in order to sustain and grow their mission-driven work in the field of restorative justice. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a strong track record of securing major gifts and managing donor relationships. They will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, managing a portfolio of donors, overseeing core fundraising functions, and leading innovation in new fundraising initiatives. This role will report to the Executive Director and manage a Development and Communications Associate.
Key responsibilities for the Director of Development include partnering with the Executive Director and Board to design and lead philanthropic initiatives, collaborating with other Directors to set a cohesive fundraising strategy, overseeing grant prospecting and management, managing a portfolio of donors, leading the Board Development Committee, and supervising the Development and Communications Associate. The ideal candidate will champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in donor outreach, set and achieve annual fundraising goals, and work towards building a donor base reflective of the communities served by the client.
