The client is seeking a full-time Commercial Loan Officer to manage a small lending portfolio and grow their own loan portfolio through business development. The role focuses on building new business relationships and generating lending opportunities while contributing to the bank’s visibility through community involvement. Responsibilities center on relationship management, portfolio risk and profitability, and supporting credit processes through collaboration with the Commercial Credit Department.
The Commercial Loan Officer will develop and manage relationships with commercial clients, meet or exceed sales goals across deposits, loans, fee income, and new business revenue, and support profitable portfolio growth. The position also involves creating credit presentations, developing and leveraging business and commercial referral sources, presenting customer financial information to relevant committees, and cross-selling appropriate bank products and services to commercial customers. The role includes adhering to confidentiality, the code of ethics, and applicable loan compliance laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with a college degree preferred. Experience requirements include three or more years in retail bank operations, and small business lending experience is a plus. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, high sales ability (including sales management capability), and proven relationship skills, along with knowledge of business loan and deposit products and general understanding of small business needs and related banking services. The role also requires effective written and oral communication, superior customer service, and strong PC skills with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
