Description

The US Market Access Head for Hospital-Based Antibiotics is responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure optimal pricing and reimbursement for hospital-based antibiotics in the US. This role involves building strong relationships with payers, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and hospital systems to achieve favorable access and contracting terms. A key aspect of this position is leading initiatives in value-based contracting and payment models that are innovative and aligned with payer needs. The role also requires assessing market trends and payer policies to inform strategic decisions and identify access opportunities, as well as advocating for policies that enhance antibiotic access and stewardship.

The person in this role is expected to have a deep understanding of U.S. market access for hospital-based antibiotics or infectious disease products, with a history of successful negotiation of contracts and securing advantageous formulary placements. Experience with value-based contracting and outcomes-based reimbursement models is essential, along with comprehensive knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers. Furthermore, an understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and antibiotic stewardship programs is necessary. This position involves managing and mentoring a market access team, ensuring compliance with U.S. healthcare regulations, and driving cross-functional alignment with commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will be offered a performance-based bonus of 20-25% and a comprehensive benefits package. This role provides the opportunity to build and manage a pivotal department within a large organization, contributing to an engaging work environment in the life sciences industry. The position offers a chance to influence strategies that not only support the client's business goals but also address critical public health issues related to antibiotic access and resistance.
