the client is recruiting a senior commercial finance leader to build and scale the commercial finance function end-to-end across multiple European markets. This newly created, high-impact director-level role strengthens commercial decision-making and financial governance while providing deep, insight-driven business partnering to the executive community. The role operates with broad influence across commercial operations, pricing, gross margin management, distribution, and long-term value creation.
Following a successful multi-year turnaround, the organization is entering a phase of sustained growth, geographic expansion, and rising operational complexity. Commercial finance activities are expected to become fully integrated and centrally owned, shifting focus from traditional reporting toward proactive value creation, scenario planning, commercial optimization, and strategic influence at Director and executive committee level. The role will partner with directors and functional leaders to drive commercial insight, value creation, scenario analysis, and proactive business partnering.
Key responsibilities include leading commercial finance activities across revenue, gross margin, distribution, and commercial operations; building, reviewing, and validating financial business cases with disciplined benefit tracking; and overseeing quarterly, annual, and long-range planning and forecasting. The position will constructively challenge commercial assumptions and investment proposals, elevate the quality of commercial dialogue and decision-making, and lead, develop, and scale a multi-country commercial finance team. The successful applicant will have extensive experience in commercial finance leadership or finance business partnering in complex multinational environments, strong analytical capability, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders credibly at director/executive committee level; a finance, accounting, or business degree and professional finance/accounting qualifications are expected to be advantageous. Strong communication skills in Polish and English are required, and advanced Excel and experience with finance and reporting systems are expected, with ERP and warehouse management exposure desirable; the role will also support group strategic insight discussions and selected investor-related topics.
