A client is seeking a Commercial Director with full leadership responsibility to develop and implement commercial and strategic priorities. In this role, you will oversee and consolidate the firm’s activities, lead and manage senior client relationships, and represent the business with insurers, intermediaries, and group counterparts. You will also drive business development initiatives aimed at revenue generation, while ensuring the delivery of consistent, rigorous, and clear advisory outputs and documentation.
You will personally contribute to complex advisory and tender assignments, ensuring strong technical quality and commercially sound outcomes. The role includes monitoring business performance, margins, and overall financial results, with full P&L accountability focused on sustainable profitability. You will lead, coach, and coordinate a small, experienced advisory team and support governance, reporting, and internal process enhancement where required, while maintaining the firm’s positioning as an independent and trusted advisor.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in insurance broking, risk consulting, or closely related advisory environments. Strong familiarity with insurance tender processes, coverage structures, and policy analysis is expected, along with broad technical exposure across major commercial risk lines. Fluency in Dutch, French, and English is essential, and prior experience in smaller, entrepreneurial, or specialist environments is an advantage, alongside strong commercial judgment, relationship orientation, and a pragmatic, ownership-minded leadership style.
