The client seeks a dynamic, experienced leader to serve as President, the institution’s chief executive officer and corporate secretary to the Board of Trustees. The President provides visionary, mission-driven leadership, guiding strategic planning and institutional effectiveness while fostering a culture of student success and academic excellence. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, trustees, and community partners, the President provides executive oversight of financial stewardship, resource development, academic programs, enrollment management, and campus operations, along with key responsibilities for policy implementation, regulatory compliance, and accountability to state performance goals.
As the principal ambassador, the President cultivates partnerships and advances workforce and transfer pathways while ensuring responsible governance aligned with state law and Board priorities. The role is expected to demonstrate technical and principled leadership, with an emphasis on visible, active engagement with the community. The President is also responsible for articulating and advancing a compelling, mission-centered vision in partnership with the Board, guiding institutional priorities, and taking calculated, transformational steps to position the institution for success in a rapidly changing educational environment.
Core responsibilities include providing institutional leadership with working knowledge of accreditation standards, articulation agreements, and workforce alignment, and promoting collaboration, transparency, and respect among internal and external stakeholders. The President is expected to strengthen relationships with legislators, community leaders, industry partners, and donors, and to partner with direct-support and governance entities to advance advocacy and responsible resource development consistent with applicable law. Additional priorities include strategic and ethical fiscal stewardship, championing academic excellence and student success through data-informed approaches, and leading long-range planning for capital assets, facilities, and technology to support learning, operational efficiency, and institutional growth.
