The client seeks an innovative, future-focused, student-centered leader to serve as the next president and help shape workforce-responsive higher education. The president will lead a large, financially stable community college during a period of regional growth, workforce transformation, and evolving educational demand, with responsibility for advancing student success and positioning the institution as a model for innovation and responsiveness to workforce needs.
The role will provide strategic and external leadership to guide the institution through rapid change and evolving educational demands. The president is expected to demonstrate confidence in decision-making, strategic agility, and engagement with external stakeholders while overseeing open-access education aligned with workforce needs and supporting pathways that may include employment preparation, career advancement, and university transfer. The institution operates across multiple campuses serving a substantial annual student population and offers a broad range of degree and credential programs.
Qualifications include an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible higher education experience, including demonstrated success in a senior-level administrative role. Community or technical college leadership experience with demonstrated workforce development and employer engagement success is strongly preferred, as is experience teaching in higher education (or equivalent experience) reflecting an understanding of faculty roles and student-centered instruction.
