Stiftung Usthi is a nonprofit organization in international development cooperation, promoting equal access to education, healthcare services, and empowerment. The client is politically independent, religiously neutral, and holds ZEWO certification for responsible fund use. They are seeking a Co-Managing Director to share operational management responsibility and ensure sustainability.
The Co-Managing Director will work with the current Managing Director during maternity leave, under the foundation board's strategic leadership. Responsibilities include developing strategy, setting priorities, managing resources, fundraising, and overseeing budget and financial management. The role involves engaging with partner organizations, donors, and stakeholders, with regular travel to project countries.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant masters degree, expertise in development cooperation, and management experience within an NGO. Experience in the Global South, particularly India or Nepal, is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, fluency in German and English (French is a plus), and a proactive, results-driven approach are required. The position offers a meaningful role with long-term impact, a stable work environment in Zurich Oerlikon with remote work options. Position is based in Switzerland.
