the client is accepting applications for the position of Clinical Chief, Adult Acute Psychiatry Division. This is a full-time Clinician-Educator role, eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate or Professor. The Clinical Chief will report to the Vice Chair of Clinical Services and will provide strategic and operational oversight of the division’s clinical services to ensure high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care across all service lines.
The Clinical Chief will lead initiatives in clinical service planning, workforce development, and performance improvement, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. In partnership with academic leadership, the role will support the academic mission and help ensure clinical sites are conducive to education and research. Responsibilities also include oversight of clinical budgets, regulatory compliance, quality monitoring, faculty recruitment and mentorship, and community engagement, with a key role in shaping the growth and direction of adult and acute psychiatric services.
Required qualifications include an MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry, eligibility for an unrestricted medical license, and at least five years of progressive clinical leadership experience, including supervision and mentorship of clinical staff. Candidates should have a track record of clinical excellence in adult or acute psychiatric care, experience with strategic planning and clinical service implementation, strong knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement, and experience with performance evaluation processes such as OPPE and FPPE or equivalent. Preferred qualifications may include prior inpatient or emergency psychiatry leadership experience (e.g., Medical Director, Clinical Chief, or Division Head), experience managing budgets and productivity tracking, and a demonstrated ability to align clinical operations with teaching and research missions while engaging with external partners and the community.
