The client is seeking a Client Director to provide maternity cover for a one-year term and join its MMG team. In this role, you will lead The client team and set the commercial and strategic direction for a multi-million-pound business, delivering retail media solutions designed to drive growth for a major retailer and its brand partners. You will own commercial performance against revenue and commercial targets and help raise the standard for strategic planning and insight-led delivery.
You will lead and inspire a team of approximately 32 people, building a high-performing culture and ensuring client work is commercially effective. The role includes building trusted senior relationships with the retailer and partner brands, aligning priorities, and identifying growth opportunities. You will bring teams together across The client’s group to deliver campaigns, insights, reporting, and high-quality client service, while also developing your people through performance management, progression, succession planning, and strong leadership.
Key requirements include experience as a senior client leader, ideally in a complex retail, FMCG, or similarly demanding client environment, along with strong commercial acumen and proven experience delivering revenue and profitability targets while managing complex budgets. You should be an experienced stakeholder manager and people leader, with capability in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management, and the ability to translate commercial data into clear actions. The client also looks for strategic thinking, clear and influential communication, proactive solutions focus, and a continuous improvement mindset.
