The client is seeking a China CEO to lead transformation and growth for its Shanghai-based China operation, repositioning it from a media-centric model to an integrated partner for growth, commerce, and marketing solutions. The role will drive innovation across digital, data, content, commerce, and creative to reflect China’s evolving consumer and platform landscape, and will champion new business models, value-creation frameworks, and integrated offerings aligned with global and regional strategies.
The China CEO will build and sustain executive-level relationships with senior client stakeholders, including marketing and growth leaders as well as heads of e-commerce, across sectors such as FMCG, retail, luxury, and automotive. The role will strengthen existing global and regional partnerships while unlocking new avenues for revenue and category expansion, serving as a trusted advisor who can shape clients’ marketing, growth, and transformation agendas.
The position also focuses on building and retaining a future-fit talent base across strategy, digital, performance marketing, creative, data, and commerce, promoting a collaborative, high-accountability culture that encourages speed, experimentation, and client-centric solutions. Success requires proven leadership experience in similar agencies or marketing/commerce-oriented firms, strong strategic and commercial acumen with disciplined operational and P&L management, and the ability to navigate and unify complex global and regional operating models while harmonizing collaboration across multiple teams and specialist units; it is expected that the CEO will lead with an inclusive, people-centered approach and influence effectively across a global matrix.
