the client is seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead overall technology strategy and build a high-performing internal engineering organization. This executive role will oversee technology vision, software architecture, engineering leadership, infrastructure, security, and product delivery, partnering closely with executive leadership to align technology investments with business objectives. The position focuses on modernizing platforms, strengthening engineering capabilities, and driving innovation within the wealth and financial technology domain.
The CTO will develop and execute the long-term technology vision, roadmap, and innovation strategy. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end software engineering, architecture, infrastructure, DevOps, security, and technology operations; modernizing existing platforms to deliver scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions; and establishing engineering best practices, software development standards, and operational excellence. The role also includes mentoring and growing technical leadership, championing emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and advanced analytics, and overseeing technology governance, cybersecurity, vendor relationships, budgeting, and long-term technology investments.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred, and 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including experience as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or similar executive role. Candidates should demonstrate success building, scaling, and leading software engineering organizations, with strong background in modern software architecture, cloud technologies, DevOps, and enterprise technology strategy. Experience with Microsoft technologies such as .NET, C#, SQL Server, APIs, and modern web application development is expected, along with proven ability to lead technology transformation and organizational change, and strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in wealthtech, fintech, or financial services technology is strongly preferred, with additional familiarity with portfolio management, investment reporting, or financial software platforms considered a plus.
