We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join the executive leadership team and help build national-impact technology and AI systems. This role oversees the organization’s full technology landscape, including software engineering, platforms, infrastructure, data, cloud, and AI innovation, with a focus on delivering secure, scalable, mission-critical digital solutions for government stakeholders. The CTO will define the long-term technical direction and strengthen in-house engineering capabilities to support high-impact delivery.
The CTO will develop and execute the organization’s technology strategy across software, data, infrastructure, cloud, and AI domains. Key responsibilities include driving modern engineering practices such as cloud-native development, DevSecOps, automation, secure architectures, and quality assurance; overseeing system and solution architecture to ensure resilience, performance, and compliance with data security and AI governance requirements; and leading R&D initiatives in AI/ML and next-generation engineering capabilities. The role also includes strengthening cybersecurity, risk management, responsible AI practices, and secure development lifecycles across all technology functions.
Additional responsibilities include partnering with stakeholders and product teams to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions, and establishing long-term plans, budgets, and technical roadmaps for platforms, R&D, and advanced AI capabilities. The ideal candidate has extensive leadership experience across complex technology environments and strong expertise in software architecture, enterprise platforms, cloud or on-prem infrastructure, DevSecOps, and engineering process maturity. They should also demonstrate experience building scalable, privacy-sensitive and regulated systems, have broad understanding of modern AI domains and the AI lifecycle (from experimentation and evaluation through deployment and continuous improvement), and bring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills to influence at senior levels.
