the client is an entrepreneurial investment platform focused on building and scaling companies in transformational sectors, with technology and artificial intelligence as a key growth area for developing new products, platforms, and ventures. In this role, the Chief Technology Officer will define and lead the technology strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives, product development, and scalable technology execution across the platform and its portfolio initiatives. The position is designed for an intellectually challenging, fast-moving environment where entrepreneurial talent is expected to drive solid, enduring businesses.
Key responsibilities include defining the technology vision, roadmap, and architecture; leading the development of software products, AI-enabled solutions, and digital platforms from concept through deployment; and translating business opportunities, use cases, and investment theses into practical technology plans. The Chief Technology Officer will oversee the design and delivery of MVPs, prototypes, and scalable products while ensuring quality, security, reliability, and speed of execution. The role also involves building and structuring internal and external technology teams, evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and partners, and maintaining strong technology governance across cybersecurity, data management, privacy, infrastructure, and development standards.
The Chief Technology Officer will also support technical due diligence and technology assessments, including make-or-buy decisions for new initiatives or investment opportunities. Collaboration with founders, investment professionals, and business leaders is central to identifying technology-driven value creation opportunities, while fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, execution, and continuous improvement within the technology function. The successful candidate will bring significant technology leadership experience (such as CTO or equivalent roles), a strong background in scalable software architecture and digital product development, proven experience building or scaling software products or AI-driven solutions, and practical understanding of artificial intelligence and data architecture; strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are expected, along with fluency in English and Italian.
