The client seeks an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technical direction of a DeFi protocol built on Solana. In this fully remote, high-impact role, you will help shape the architecture, development approach, and long-term technical vision during a critical growth stage, bringing autonomy and technical leadership in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for the protocol’s technical strategy, engineering leadership, and the robustness, scalability, and security of smart contracts and supporting infrastructure. Key duties include leading end-to-end technical planning and execution; architecting and implementing secure, scalable smart contracts in Rust; managing and growing the engineering team; overseeing technical design, audits, testing, and mainnet deployments; and collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and business development teams to deliver key milestones. You will also enforce strong security practices and represent the project externally to partners, the community, and investors.
Required qualifications include proven experience as a CTO or technical leader in a high-growth crypto/DeFi startup, strong hands-on expertise with Solana and Rust-based smart contract development, and experience building and deploying Solana-based DeFi protocols. You should have a deep understanding of on-chain economics and DeFi mechanisms, a track record of shipping and scaling secure DeFi infrastructure, and strong leadership and communication skills. Comfort working in a fully remote, async-first environment is essential.
