the client is seeking an accomplished, strategic, and technically credible Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide executive leadership for the technology environment supporting a national digital research infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CTO will be accountable for infrastructure operations, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and corporate technology systems.
The CTO will ensure reliable, secure, and resilient platforms that support advanced research computing, research data management, and research software services. The role also supports investment decisions that balance technical feasibility, operational resilience, financial sustainability, and long-term system performance. The successful candidate will typically bring substantial senior experience in technology leadership, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, or large-scale distributed systems, including leadership of complex, high-availability, mission-critical environments across multi-organizational or national ecosystems, with strong executive judgment and the ability to communicate clear direction to senior stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field is expected, with a graduate degree preferred.
