the client is seeking a Chief Scientific Officer to shape and advance its global scientific vision, impact, and credibility. for more than 30 years, the client has applied quality improvement methods to address current and future health care challenges, with a mission to improve health and health care worldwide so that everyone has the best care possible. the Chief Scientific Officer will lead the development of a multi-year scientific agenda, ensuring that work is grounded in rigorous evidence, innovation, and a commitment to improving health outcomes globally.
reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Scientific Officer will guide the organization’s improvement science strategy and help establish enterprise-wide standards for scientific integrity, ethics, and data governance. the role will strengthen how evidence is generated, applied, and shared, ensuring programs, products, and partnerships deliver measurable, equitable impact across diverse global contexts.
as a visible internal and external leader, the Chief Scientific Officer will oversee the improvement science hub and formalize the client’s product development and management system to prioritize and manage offerings using clear decision processes, equity and local-context considerations, and sound business and financial judgment. the role will also support growth through funder and customer engagement and will develop scientific talent and organizational capability to strengthen credibility and impact. the ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in a relevant field and deep expertise in improvement science and its practical application in complex systems, along with strong scientific credibility demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and/or widely recognized applied contributions.
