The Chief Research Informatics Officer (CRIO) will report to the Chief Information Officer of UAB Medicine and the Chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science. They will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan focused on integrating and extracting data, utilizing digital tools, and computing platforms across research and administrative functions. The CRIO will play a key role in clinical research informatics, supporting the ongoing development of the Epic EHR system.Additionally, the CRIO will help shape the future data environment by leveraging Epic as a strategic platform for embedded clinical trials, research patient portals, and advanced analytics for trial recruitment and outcomes monitoring. They will be a core leader in driving innovation and efficiency in data management and analysis within the organization. The CRIO will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that data is utilized effectively to support research initiatives and improve patient outcomes.
